Discovery MS is participating in its third MS Walk this year!
The walk is being held in downtown Kannapolis, right next door to our home base: the North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC). All the funds we raise will go the National MS Society (NMSS), whose mission statement is: People affected by MS can live their best lives as we stop MS in its tracks, restore what has been lost and end MS forever.
The walk events start at 9 AM on Saturday May 6th. To get involved, you can join our team, donate, and/or volunteer at the walk. (Note: Discovery MS receives no funding from the NMSS; all donations made to our MS Walk team go to the NMSS alone. If you want to donate to Discovery MS, visit here.)
And after the walk, you can go check out Jiggy with the Piggy, Kannapolis’ annual Kansas City Barbeque Society Competition. There’ll be food, arts and crafts, carnival rides, and more, all at the NCRC. There will even be a Science Stop, where families can have a ton of science fun:
• Eat a Rainbow with UNC’s Nutrition Research Institute (NRI)
• Fold DNA origami with UNCC and the NCRC’s Catalyst Group
• Test your strength and jumping skills with ASU
• Take photos at the NCRC photo booth
And much, much more.
Together, we are stronger!
